We were delighted to attend our first Retail Technology Show this week, from Tuesday 26th to Wednesday 27th April. The event proved popular after a long three years away from in person trade shows, taking place at Olympia London.
It was fantastic to see strong support from the retail community in attendance. Filling the venue with enthusiasm and positivity after an undeniably challenging couple of years for the retail industry.
Andy Tudor, CEO, saw this as a real highlight of the event saying, “The enthusiasm in the room was tangible. To hear the laughter, see the smiles and be immersed in the camaraderie after such a long break from trade events was refreshing and much needed.”
The theme of discussion centred around perpetual innovation and reinvention being more critical than ever for success in retail. Along with the need to leverage data to make informed and intelligent decisions across all aspects of the retail business.
It was great to see our partners Silverbox IT, Mercaux, OneStock and Vista, and fantastic to have opportunity to catch up with the publication Retail Technology Innovation Hub in such an energised setting, and get a copy of their first print edition of the magazine!
With a comprehensive schedule of speakers from a broad range of supporting businesses, from Samsung Electronics and Amazon to H&M Group and Sky, a vast range of subjects were covered, and insights offered.
The partner drinks on the Tuesday evening of were a good opportunity to discuss the day, general retail technology themes and to share ideas with associates old and new, especially after so much time without the opportunity to do this on such scale.
Data driven retail was a key theme surrounding the event to which we will certainly be returning to next year. Here at Clekt we are looking forwards to many more in person events in the next 12 months, including more of our own.
