Customer Story: Hotelplan UK

Hotelplan UK is a specialist tour operator group offering adventure, ski, and walking holidays through brands like Explore Worldwide, Inghams, Inntravel, and Santa’s Lapland.

Despite their goal to deliver high-quality travel experiences for customers, multiple acquisitions left Hotelplan with fragmented data and little insight to guide strategic decisions. Hotelplan selected Clekt as its data partner of choice to deliver the following outcomes using the Snowflake platform:

  • Centralisation of existing data: Booking information, reservations and customer data were migrated to Snowflake with incredibly high accuracy, bringing all Hotelplan data into one place.
  • A single view of a customer: To understand the lifetime value of a customer, a single view was created. This relied upon standardisation of data, improvement of data quality, governance procedures and ease of accessibility to aid internal adoption.
  • Data Visualisation: Clekt implemented Hotelplan’s preferred BI tool, enabling the finance team to report on trading performance accurately. This empowers the leadership team to make more informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Scalable architecture: Hotelplan Group now have a platform that can grow with their business rather than create friction, but most importantly reduced the number of manual processes for teams improving efficiencies and data quality across the group.
