KOMI Group’s mission is to build the most engaged digital audiences in the world. We’re experts in social, content and creative and we own and operate some of the largest online communities on the planet. We create over 40,000 pieces of original video content every year which are utilised across our portfolio of media brands and our creators, on social platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and TikTok.

This equates to more than 2.5 billion views per month, and 700 million minutes of content – this is a number which is growing fast. KOMI Insights is the skeleton of our business, and we want to be able to make decisions based on expertise within the business and data that is generated through platforms.

The Project

The work that’s been done is ground-breaking.

We came into this to find a solution that wasn’t available, and I believe that we were the front runners in trying to build something that takes us further in the industry than our competitors. The key was working together to find it. There was a lot of trial and error and there was a lot of patience shown by Clekt. I always want things done yesterday, but it wasn’t about finding the quickest solution to get there.

It was about building the infrastructure that we can grow together. It wasn’t just a case of wrapping the project up in three months and then see where it goes – this is a multi-year relationship that is going to keep growing and growing.

The value that we’re seeing straight away is that we’ve built and multiplatform reporting system that isn’t available in our industry, so we’re already seeing the benefit within internal functions. As well as our internal bands, our customers are now we’re seeing that we’ve got the ability to understand how they’re performing on multiple social platforms, which just isn’t available.

Quantifying the Value

Our weekly report used to take a day to produce. It involved collating information from 5 or 6 different platforms with 2 billion views worth of information, into a single report on Excel. We can now access the report daily and it’s available as soon as we log on.

There is no time wasted anymore producing the reports, it’s about utilising the information and making decisions with it.

We’ve unlocked so much potential that was always there, it was just locked in the data that required manual processes to access. Now we have 2 billion views worth of information on a daily basis at our fingertips.

We can drill down, we can analyse, we can understand.

What we’ve also got now is buy-in from every level of the business. Every person in the business has access to the system, which is personalised to what they do, how they work and what information they need to make decisions based to help the business grow, which we’re already seeing the benefit from.
